Mr Leo is fully packed in his home country, waiting for the journey to Antwerp and subsequent RoRo shipment to Walvis Bay in

Namibia. A Carnet de Passage is required for Namibia and the South African countries. The CPT is a type of pass for Mr. Leo. It is always stamped when entering a country and stamped out again when leaving. This proves that the vehicle is not remaining in the country but is ultimately being exported again. It is applied for at the ADAC, the automobile club guarantees to pay the customs duties to the respective country unless it can be proven that the vehicle has been exported again. A cash deposit or guarantee equivalent to around half the value of the vehicle must be made to the ADAC.
